You don’t arrive already knowing what you’re capable of. Your abilities have to be found, and it’s curiosity that does the finding: “a curious mind explores life and discovers them.” A role in life is one of those abilities meeting the chance to use it.

When you haven’t found yours yet, it shows — hopelessness, frustration, a dissatisfaction with the life you’re living. When you have, living makes sense because there’s clarity, and “the loads become enjoyable to carry.”

The way in is to explore your own being. Notice what makes you happy, take stock of the skills you already have, name the ones you’d be glad to acquire, then work out what you could do with them. Stay open and try new things. Each ability you unlock opens doors you couldn’t see before.
